An Ugly-Cute Expedition to the South
This pack features six “busakawa” (ugly-cute) little monsters representing Hengchun’s vibrant culture, traditional music, and wild weather. Let’s look at all sixteen of these highly expressive gems!
Row 1: Fiery Starts and Musical Vibes
First up is a furious blue flame monster with red eyes, yelling “很火”, which means very angry. Beside it, an onion monster holds green onions like cheer sticks, shouting “加油” to cheer you on. Next, a fuzzy orange beast looks up sheepishly under a sign asking “在嗎?” (Are you there?). Closing the row, a green monster strums a traditional moon lute while a pink onion pal cuddles it, with the Taiwanese text “有愛做伙” meaning gather together with love.
Row 2: Puns and Chill Moments
Row two kicks off with a grumpy strawberry creature saying “你恆奇怪”, a hilarious pun on Hengchun meaning “You are so weird.” Then, two ultra-chill onion buddies relax with “chill系哇” (I am so chill) and “哈哈哈…” (Hahaha). Next, a pink giant lovingly hugs a red monster with the text “恆可愛” (So cute). The row ends with a pink beast sporting heart eyes, leaning over a wall and screaming “恆! 扯!” which means unbelievable!
Row 3: From Tears to Sweet Dreams
Here we find an onion monster crying happy tears under “恆幸福~”, meaning extremely blessed. It is followed by an onion buddy popping out of a pink starburst saying “OK”. Next, a lazy green beast sleeps soundly next to a glowing smartphone under some sleepy “zzz” text. Finally, a stressed onion monster looks completely done with life, exclaiming “麻煩了!!” which means what a hassle!
Row 4: Windy Days and Foodies
Starting the final row, a hungry onion monster holds chopsticks next to a rice bowl, asking “食飽未?”, the classic Taiwanese greeting for have you eaten yet. Next, an energetic yellow star monster glows bright with “閃閃” (Sparkling). Then, we see an onion monster hilariously blown flat by Hengchun’s famous downslope wind, captioned “落山風來了~” (The downslope wind is here) and “風恆大” (The wind is super strong). Lastly, a huddle of tiny onion heads sits together under “這批恆純” (This batch is extremely pure).
