Meet the Quirky Spuds and Ugly-Cute Critters
Row One: Peach Butts and Warm Hugs
Let us look at the first row of these wonderfully bizarre stickers. The first sticker shows the pink peach Kobito, Kakuremomo-jiri, literally shaking its big pink butt at a confused sweet potato with the text 屁咧~ (Pi lie), which translates to Nonsense! or Fart!. Next, the same peach Kobito is seen passionately hugging a sweet potato with the text 超夯der (Chao hang der), meaning Super popular!—a clever pun on the Chinese word for roast and trendy. Moving along, a tall, dried-gourd-looking Kobito and our sweet potato buddy strike a pose next to a big OK. Wrapping up the top row, two tiny green Kobitos are desperately clutching a giant sweet potato under the text 抱緊帶走 (Bao jin dai zou), which means Hold tight and carry away.
Row Two: Spooky Spiky Plants and Helping Hands
The second row keeps the laughs coming. First, we see a terrified sweet potato hiding behind green grass where a leaf-headed Kobito is spying, featuring the text 嚇薯我了… (Xia shu wo le), a hilarious pun on You scared me to death! replacing the word for death with potato. In the next sticker, two tiny blue Kobitos are lifting a giant sweet potato over their heads under the frantic text 救人喔 (Jiu ren o), meaning Help!. Then, a golden, tower-like Kobito offers a sweet potato like a sacred relic with the text 請笑納~ (Qing xiao na), meaning Please accept this humble gift. Finally, a cheeky red mushroom Kobito leans coolly against our sweet potato with the text 有事嗎? (You shi ma?), translating to What is your problem? or Are you okay?.
The Genius Behind the Spuds
This masterpiece is copyrighted by Toshitaka Nabata, the brilliant artist who brought the bizarre world of Kobitos to life. Taiwan FamilyMart Co.,Ltd. hit absolute gold by licensing these wonderfully strange characters. By combining Nabata’s iconic, unsettlingly cute style with their own famous roasted sweet potato mascot, they created a legendary set of stickers that brings instant humor and character to everyday digital conversations.
